It has been a busy week this week at IHRC. We have been following the harrowing stories coming in from Myanmar and have some latest images that you can find below. This week marked the 65th anniversary of the illegal creation of the state of Israel. We have been protesting for the liberation of the Palestinian people against the Israeli apartheid where deaths, torture, killings and abuse of all sorts still continue.
Also in this week’s digest of our website, you will find details of recent events, such as our press release in the aftermath of the bombings that took place in Boston.

IHRC are urging campaigners and activists to protest against G4S for their provision of expertise and security systems to Israeli prisons, and their complicity in the detention and torture of Palestinian children. Most recently, 30 year old Arafat Jaradat, died in an Israeli prison following severe torture by Israeli security in the G4S provisioned Megiddo Prison.
Action Alert: Saudi Arabia – Oppose death sentence against Sheikh Nimr
Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr was arrested on 8 July 2012. He has reportedly been tortured by the Saudi authorities. The Saudi prosecutor in this case has reportedly called for Sheikh Nimr to be given a death sentence.
Write letters to the foreign secretary of your country and UN commissioner of human rights demanding they stop the Saudi authorities from executing Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr.

PRESS RELEASE: We condemn the Boston attacks but it is too early to speculate
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people who have lost loved ones and those that have been injured.
At this crucial time it is essential that politicians and the media do not begin to speculate as to who has carried out these attacks as this could, in some cases, lead to a backlash on minority communities.
PRESS RELEASE: Claims of rape in Myanmar deeply troubling
IHRC finds recent claims of rape against Rohingya Muslim women deeply disturbing and troubling. The claims which are in an article posted on the Vice website, deserve a full investigation especially considering the Myanmar military’s complicity in the violence against the minority Rohingya last year.

10,000 Zionists turned up at Wembley arena to celebrate 65 years of Israel. Protestors, including Jews, Christians and Muslims gathered to say that the Zionist state of Israel is nothing to be celebrated. Here is our report from the protest.

This title from IHRC Press gives an insight into the struggle against apartheid in South Africa by activist and former Robben Island detainee Achmad Cassiem. Cassiem looks at the Islamic imperative to struggle and calls for unity amongst Muslims and for all oppressed.
