Here is our weekly roundup of new items on our website. Â We have been gearing up for the annual rally for Al Quds Day 2013 which is taking place this Friday 2 August from 3pm – 7pm where thousands are expected to take part in the demonstration. For more information please see the event details below. You can stay up to date on with what is happening on the day by following us on social media. Our Facebook page and Twitter accounts have regular updates where you can stay in touch with us and engage with us in this and our other activities. Event Alert – Al Quds Day 2013 – 2 days to go!
Friday 02 August 2013 3.00pm – 7.00pm. Assemble at Portland Place, marching to Grosvenor Square.
The theme this year will be the liberation of Palestine. Â The day is not exclusive to Palestine, but rather global oppression will be remembered through the symbolic prism of the Palestinian struggle against the Zionist occupying regime.
Vacancy for Casework support Officer and PA to the Chair
IHRC is looking for a part-time casework support officer to provide case-work and administrative support as well as day to day administration for the Chair of IHRC. S / he will be responsible for emails and other forms of correspondence, providing an efficient and friendly service to visitors and callers and record keeping.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking experience within a grass roots civil society organisation that deals with domestic advocacy, research and international campaigning.Â
Event Alert – Al Quds Day 2013
Join the annual Al Quds Day Demonstration organised by the Quds Committee this year on Friday 02 August 2013. Â As usual, this will be a major national event with thousands of people coming from all over the country to show their solidarity with the people of Palestine and oppressed people everywhere.

PRESS RELEASE: Thousands expected at Al Quds day demonstration in London
Freedom and justice for Palestine, Al Quds Day – demonstrate in London on Friday 2 August 2013.Â
The largest Muslim led demonstration in the calendar is set to take place this Friday that will see thousands from across the country coming together to show solidarity and ask for freedom and justice for Palestinians.

The Truth about the French Police
The recent violent events in Trappes, after the identity checking of a woman wearing the full-veil, had an uneven media coverage. Most of the time, the media spread the version of the Police Union and Manuel Valls. The Ministry of Interior declared that he was totally backing the policemen up and that he had no doubt about Trappes’ policemen integrity and professionalism.

IHRC will be hosting an evening with the British soldier who refused to serve in Afghanistan, talking about his book ‘Soldier Box’ (published June 2013) at the IHRC Bookshop in Wembley, London.

IHRC is delighted to host visionary photographer and artist Nasreen Shaikh Jamal al-Lail’s work at its gallery in Wembley, northwest London. Jamal al-Lail is a First class graduate in Photography (BA) from the University of Westminster.Â
