“And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (and of) those who say: ‘O Lord! Cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper’.” – Holy Qur’an: Chapter 4, Verse 75

- 85% of people surveyed had encountered politicians using Islamophobic rhetoric
- 94% of people surveyed had seen negative stereotypes about Muslims in the media

This is where we need to focus our energy if we’re going to make any real changes. Our work is used to raise awareness, lobby for policy change and help save lives. One of the most important pillars of Islam is ZAKAT. The Quran orders us numerous times to fulfill this obligation and remember that there are so many who are less fortunate than we are: including those who suffer because of discrimination, hate and the impingement of their human rights.
SADAQAH (voluntary charity) is a virtuous deed in Islam and is considered proof of one’s Faith. Unlike Zakat, Sadaqah is a voluntary act of kindness to help contribute towards bettering and improving our society.
