I am writing to inform you about a potential attack on the followers of Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and the Islamic Movement Nigeria. The Sheikh is currently being illegally detained and his followers have been peacefully protesting his release for almost four years now.
I am deeply concerned that the Nigerian authorities will use the holiday period to attack followers of the Islamic Movement. I request you demand a guarantee from your Nigerian counterparts that no attacks will take place and followers of the Islamic Movement will be safe during the holiday period.
