Press Release: Decision to Ban Ken Livingstone Exposes Double-Standards Once More

The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) is shocked at the decision of the Adjudication Panel of England to suspend Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone for four weeks.

IHRC regards the decision as reflective of the ever-increasing double standards in the implementation of laws and policies in Britain with regards to freedom of speech and protection of communities.

IHRC Chair Massoud Shadjareh stated:

“In recent times, many senior politicians and journalists have compared Muslims and Islam to Nazis and Nazism without even the mildest rebuke. Today, Ken Livingstone has become the latest victim of the hypocritical implementation of freedom of speech.”
