How you can help
Our partners are on the ground in the Gaza Strip responding right now ensuring Gazans have access to essential needs such as food and have the medical supplies they need to cope with the unprecedented influx of casualties.
Our partners will continue to respond, ensuring the well-being of Palestinians who are desperate for aid. As of the 5th of February 2024, the UN says that since the start of the war, about 100,000 people in Gaza have been killed, injured or are missing.
- 360,000+ residential units destroyed or damaged
- 13 of 35 hospitals partially functioning
- 386 educational facilities damaged
- 122 ambulances damaged
- 221 places of worship (Mosques and Churches) damaged
- 11 bakeries destroyed
A population of 2.3 million, of which 47% are children. Currently, over 85% of the total population is internally displaced, and 1.7 million live in refugee camps.
Residents in Gaza have flocked to hospitals and United Nations schools for safety, hoping that Israel will abide by international law and not attack those coordinates.
However, places of shelter and medical care have also not been free from Israeli attacks.
- Over half of Gaza’s homes – 278,000 residential units have been destroyed or damaged
- 311 educational facilities damaged
- 87 ambulances damaged
- 11 bakeries destroyed
Through our projects in Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), we work with trusted and experienced local partners to deliver programmes that provide Palestinians access to essential health services and food aid. We work throughout the year and respond as quickly as possible in times of humanitarian emergency.
The UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the OPT determined that the “political system of entrenched rule” in the West Bank and Gaza Strip “satisfies the prevailing evidentiary standard for the existence of apartheid”.
Since 2022 the West Bank saw an alarming increase in violence, demolitions, evictions, and movement restrictions. This has led to massive healthcare needs due to injuries and many have been killed: men, women and children. 2023 is the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank since the United Nations.
In the West Bank homes and other vital infrastructure are routinely demolished, and inhabitants are evicted by force. This is due to the violence, intimidation, and rejection of building permits. Schools continue to be damaged or demolished. Palestinian students are routinely harassed on their way to school, hampering their access to education.
