ALERT: UK – Request for local coordinators

Are you interested in volunteering for human rights? Are you keen to promote awareness of human rights abuses and help campaign for solutions? Then read on… IHRC are looking to recruit local coordinators (volunteers) who would be responsible for promoting IHRC activities within their area. IHRC already has a number of local co-ordinators from various UK regions, and runs an on-going training programme for local co-ordinators. The amount of commitment required is flexible. Activities typically involve:

• Distributing IHRC literature within the community • Raising awareness of the campaigns • Organising events/ speakers • Fundraising • Organising fortnightly/ monthly support meetings for campaigners within the area.

The local coordinators would be required to regularly liaise with a designated member of the IHRC office team.

Training will be provided, with at least two training days a year. The next training day will be Sunday 9th November and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
If you are interested, have the time and are willing to make the commitment, then please contact the IHRC office if possible by email sending in a short CV and a request to be a local co-ordinator to huda@ihrc.org. You will be sent two reference forms which need to be returned to us by 1st November as a pre-requisite to attending the training day. A short phone interview may also be required.
