PRESS RELEASE: Trinidad and Tobago – Concern over exradition of ‘terror’ suspects
In response to the extradition of Kareem Ibrahiim, Abdul Kadir and Abdel Nur, late Tuesday night from Trinidad & Tobago, Chair of IHRC, Massoud Shadjareh said:
“Last night’s extradition was most appalling; Ibrahiim has been in the hospital since April, and according to his lawyer was in no condition to be extradited, and was nevertheless extradited from none other than the hospital in which he was housed. Furthermore, this second appeal was thrown out on a mere technicality; while the whole case has reeked of entrapment from the get go. Likewise, we emphatically call on the US authorities to allow these men a fair trial, and to treat them in accordance with international law.” [ENDS]
