Summary 

Recent reports have exposed much of the way that the century old Hindutva ideology has infiltrated British society and the role it played as the driving factor in the Leicester Riots last year. We must make clear to the UK government that this is unacceptable and that they must act. 

Background

One such report entitled: Hindutva In Britain, examines the role that Hindutva organisations have been operating in Britain, including aligning themselves with both Zionists, the British Far Right and Conservative MP’s, particularly Bob Blackman, whose campaign they’ve funded. It also reveals that the riots in Leicester did not come out of a vacuum, but were the result of a growing influence of Hindutva in the city, which has manifested itself years prior.  

The Hindutva ideology is an extreme form of Hindu Nationalism inspired by European fascist movements such as Nazism and that of Mussolini’s Italy. Their political party in India, holds a majority in government there and is the largest political party, in terms of members, in the World. The report shows how many Hindutva organisations have infiltrated British Society.

• Vishwa Hindu Parishad (UK) 
• Sewa UK 
• Param Shakti Peeth of UK 
• INSIGHT UK 
• Centre for Democracy, Pluralism and Human Rights (CDPHR) 

Requested Action 

Write to your parliamentary representative and demand they address the issue of Hindutva politics in the political life and structures of their country.  A model letter / email can be found below.

Re: The infiltration of Hindutva in UK society and politics. 

I am writing in response to the recent revelations which has uncovered in reports about the extent to which the Fascist Hindutva ideology has infiltrated British society. This terrifying has exposed how they are currently influencing British politics and creating tensions between the Hindu, and the Muslim and Sikh communities, directly leading to the awful riots we saw in Leicester last year. In this country prominent figures have either remained muted on this issue or have made laudatory comments in support of discriminatory and sometimes genocidal rhetoric coming from Hindutva groups. According to the report, groups who have been espousing this ideology are Overseas Friends of BJP UK (OFBJP UK), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (UK), Sewa UK, Param Shakti Peeth of UK, INSIGHT UK, and Centre for Democracy, Pluralism and Human Rights (CDPHR). 

I demand that you pressure with the government to investigate the role of Hindutva lobbying, propagation and incitement to violence within this country, and the alarming rise of such a divisive ideology within the United Kingdom. I also expect the government to investigate how it is affecting the independence of the UK government themselves and the decisions of members of parliament.
