Press Release: Savagery of Occupying Armies Condemned

The Islamic Human Rights Commission condemns in the strongest terms the brutal beating and torture of Iraqi children by British soldiers as apparently revealed in video footage broadcast yesterday.

IHRC notes that incidents of such barbarity are not isolated but symptomatic of the military occupation of Iraq. Indeed, wherever in the world there is occupation for self-interest, whether it be Iraq, Palestine or the Republic of Chechnya of the Russian Federation, occurrences such as this are part and parcel of daily life for the occupied populations.

IHRC Chair Massoud Shadjareh said today:

“What worries us is how many other such incidents are taking place every day in Iraq of which there are no photographs or video footage. If Britain is really serious about defeating terrorism, it must wake up to the horrific reality of its own deeds.”
