Event Alert: UK – Protest against the brutal killing of Khaled Saeed by police
Date: Saturday 19 June 2010
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Place: 23 South Street, London, W1K 2XD, UK (closest underground station: Marble Arch)
A protest will be held Saturday 19 June 2010 in front of the Egyptian embassy in objection to the brutal killing of the Egyptian citizen Khaled Saeed, who tried to expose the corruption of police. He was tortured and killed in public on Tuesday 8 June 2010 under the use of the emergency law which had been enforced since 30 years.
Khaled was arrested after objecting to the security and police informants’ methods during a search of the internet café he was at. He was roughly manhandled and pushed out onto the streets before being dragged into a nearby building entrance where he was viciously beaten and kicked.
Eye witnesses reported that the police then took him in a police vehicle only to come back later and dump his dead body.

“And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (of) those who say: Our Lord! Cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper.”
