ALERT UPDATE: Dr. Elamin Mohammad Osman (Sudan) released today.
Dr. Elamin Mohammed Osman (urgent alerts 10th June and 12th July 2002) was released today from detention in Sudan. Despite pressure upon him to resign from his position as Secretary General of the NGO Munazamat Al Dawa Al Islamiya, he has refused to do so and was released regardless.
IHRC thanks the hundreds of campaigners who have protested his imprisonment. We hope and pray that there will be no re-arrest. More information will be posted shortly.[END]
