IHRC has appealed to the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders to take up the case of Dr Abduljalil Al-Singace, arrested in Bahrain after speaking at House of Lords and meeting with Amnesty International.
His arrest came the day after the ruler of Bahrain, Shaikh Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa, appealed for critics of the government to return to the country, promising them freedom of speech and action.
Dr Abdul Jalil Al-Singace, leader of Bahraini human rights group, arrested at airport after speaking at House of Lords and meeting with Amnesty International. Other Bahraini activists also arrested in an expanding crackdown.
