IHRC grieves the loss of Wafa al-Udaini who was assassinated this morning in a cowardly Israeli airstrike on her home in the occupied Gaza Strip.

Her husband and two of her children were also martyred in the targeted attack.

Wafa is the 174th journalist in Gaza to be killed by Israel since the Zionist state commenced its genocide against Palestinians last October.

The campaign against journalists is intended to prevent the truth about the genocide in Gaza from reaching the outside world. Wafa knew that continuing her work would put her in the firing line but she carried on regardless.

IHRC had the pleasure of working with Wafa for many years and even amid the savage genocide, she refused to be cowed, continuing to document the daily brutality faced by her compatriots.

May Allah accept her struggle, embrace her family in His infinite mercy and raise them among the ranks of the righteous on the Day of Judgement.
