IHRC strongly condemns the complaint made by the pro-Zionist and pro-apartheid UK Lawyers for Israel to the Charity Commission that IHRC Trust has breached its charitable status and engaged in anti-Semitic activity.
The letter to the charity watchdog of England and Wales accuses IHRC Trust of not fulfilling its charitable object to promote equality, diversity and good race relations in its coverage of the Church of England witch-hunt against the anti-Zionist former priest Dr Stephen Sizer and also being anti-Semitic by saying that the Church was bowing to Zionist pressure.
IHRC finds the claims utterly risible and designed to deflect from the continuing drive by Zionists to muzzle any criticism of Israel and its supporters in the UK.
UKLFI should know very well that IHRC is a private limited company and a separate legal entity to the charity IHRC Trust and therefore not answerable to it. It is also well aware that the content it complains of is our work, IHRC Ltd. IHRC Trust does not share nor have its own website. In deliberately conflating the two entities, UKLFI is seeking to do exactly what IHRC, and others have been highlighting for many years: pressure the authorities to shut down criticism of the apartheid Israeli state.
We find the accusation of anti-Semitism even more ridiculous. UKLFI says that in criticising the Church of England for not speaking truth to power as Jesus would have done, IHRC has employed an anti-Semitic trope that Jews are all-powerful. We are sure that all right-minded people will see this conclusion as a monumental feat of logical acrobatics. Human rights groups exist to speak truth to power and no state should get a free pass, certainly not one that seeks to hide behind the shield of anti-Semitism.
We are not surprised that UKLFI would seek to silence our views on Israel, it acts as the attack dogs of the Israeli state and is the same organisation which was recently widely condemned for forcing the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London to remove artwork by Palestinian children because it reportedly made Jewish patients feel “vulnerable, harassed and victimised”. Their action with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital shows that anything that seeks to humanise Palestinians, including children, is viewed as a threat to Israel’s racist system of apartheid and ongoing occupation.
