About the illustrator
Nadine Issa is an illustrator from a special village called Malkeye in southern Lebanon. Growing up, she was part of both Lebanese and Palestinian communities. Because of the lack of recognition of village borders, she has both Lebanese and Palestinian citizenships, and she feels proud to share in both cultures. Nadine’s early life was shaped by stories of resilience and friendship from both sides, which inspire her art. Her illustrations often reflect themes of home, hope, and togetherness, showing how both Lebanese and Palestinian communities face challenges with strength and unity.
