New Campaign Material on Turkey available on-line
Details of Huda Kaya, prisoner of faith and hijab ban in Turkey.
IHRC has produced a short campaign pack on the situation in Turkey regarding the hijab ban, and the re-imprisonment of Huda Kaya and her three daughters for protesting against the ban.
Campaigners will remember that Huda Kaya and 74 other known as the Malatya 74 were released on suspended sentences after an IHRC campaign in 1999. The campaign pack details how the state appealed against these decisions and has now been able to re-impose custodial sentences.
