1. IHRC unsuccessfully targetted by cyber-terrorists
As with other active anti-Zionist organisations and campaigners, IHRC has recently been targeted by cyber-terrorists hell-bent on wrecking our email and internet system.
Since the launch of our report entitled ‘Muslim Profiling: Questions Regarding the Policing of the Pro-Israeli Rally and the Counter-demonstration of May 5, 2002’ in September, IHRC has:
(i) been inundated with spam emails in their thousands containing obscene, racist, Islamophobic and other offensive material;
(ii) had its mailing list (unsuccessfully) targetted by false subscription requests in their thousands;
(iii) had email addresses of its officers forged and false email messages sent out in their hundreds of thousands claiming to be from IHRC.
Whilst investigations are underway, we are pleased to say that whilst these actions have been annoying and show a new level of hatred against our work, IHRC’s internet and email security has not been adversely affected or compromised.
As yet the culprits of these actions are unidentified, but IHRC notes that these actions follow-on a recent series of similar attacks on other anti-Zionist organisations.
IHRC has taken some precautionary security measures with regard to the mailing list. Subscriptions since August 2002 have been deleted. If you wish to re-subscribe please follow the instructions at the end of the email.

2. United Nations Accredits IHRC to Palestinian Division
IHRC has been accredited to the United Nations Division on Palestinian Rights. IHRC thanks all the supporters and campaigners whose activism on Palestine has helped us achieve this. Insha Allah the work of all those dedicated to the cause of justice in Palestine can now be heard at a new level.
3. UK Event: \’Human Rights Issues In Palestine\’ lecture at Ar-Rum, London
IHRC Chairman, Massoud Shadjareh will be talking about human rights in Palestine with Dr. Azzam Tamimi. The Lecture will be presented by Dr.Azam Tamimi and Masoud Shadjareh. The talk will focus on the roots of the conflict and its impact on the Palestinian people with emphasis on how to explain and promote the plight of the Palestinians to the public in Britain. By creating an arena of awareness and building a framework of understanding our speakers hope to bring a fresh insight into the Middle-Eastern conflict.
