British Children March for Children in Palestine
Children from diverse backgrounds, faiths and ethnicities will be walking hand in hand this Saturday in order to show solidarity with the children of Palestine.
The march and rally will highlight in particular the effects of occupation on children living in Palestine. 212 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa intifada, whilst over 7,000 have been injured by Israeli gunfire. Since the beginning of the intifada the number of children arrested has increased dramatically and several hundred are detained in Israeli prisons, facing routine torture whilst being interrogated.
The Children’s march, organised by the Justice for Palestine Committee* will be held on Saturday 25 May, assembling at Tothill Street (nearest tube Westminster station) at 1.30 pm. The march will end with a rally at Trafalgar Square, where children will address the audience and describe life under Israeli occupation.
* The Justice for Palestine Committee is a coalition consisting of the Islamic Centre of England, Palestinian Return Centre, Muslim Association of Britain, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Islamic Human Rights Commission, Lebanese Welfare Community and Association of Muslim Ulama in Europe.
