IHRC Urges Caution in Wake of London Attacks
The Islamic Human Rights Commission condemns in no uncertain terms the attacks perpetrated in London this morning.
IHRC chairman Massoud Shadjareh urges calm on the part of the whole community and is deeply concerned regarding safety for all in the wake of this morning’s attacks. Based on events after 9/11, IHRC is concerned and hopes that another anti-Muslim backlash is avoided, given the inevitable speculation as regards the religious affiliation of the as yet unidentified perpetrators.
IHRC is advising Muslims not to travel or go out unless necessary, and is particularly concerned that women should not go out alone in this climate. In the event of being attacked, IHRC urges victims not to retaliate and to report the matter to the police and appropriate authorities.
If you have been assaulted or harassed please also inform IHRC on 020 8904 4222. Safety advice is available ion our website:
