IHRC has called an emergency demonstration outside the Nigerian High Commission in London, UK from 8 – 9pm GMT today to demand the release of Mu’allim Ibraheem el-Zakzaky from military custody. El-Zakzaky, his wife and some children have been shot and injured in a raid on his house yesterday. Many are missing, and it is estimated that a thousand are dead after the army went on a killing spree targeting the Islamic Movement in Zaria.
Zakzaky and the Islamic Movement have been vociferous critics of government and army corruption, as well las criticising Boko Haram and the relationship between it and sections of the army.
