PRESS RELEASE: UK/Palestine – New IHRC publication ‘Towards a New Liberation Theology: Reflections on Palestine’ now available
This book is a compilation of papers presented at the conference ‘Towards a New Liberation Theology: Reflections on Palestine’ held in June 2005, in London, UK. The conference was co-organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission and NEDA, and brought together activists, academics and theologians from different faith backgrounds to discuss the relevance of faith to the discourse of freedom and transformation in the region. With contributions from Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christianity, as well as different trends in Islam and Judaism, reflecting the praxis and theory of theological traditions, this volume presents the concepts and questions raised that day and challenges the reader to look beyond conventional thinking regarding the role of faith in the region.
