The report, ‘Routing Out the Opposition’, covers the legacy of violence, dictatorship and more. The crisis has penetrated all conceivable sectors of Turkish society: military, political, cultural, societal and economical. This crisis is directly attributable to the historical, ideological legacy of the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, better known as Ataturk, who advocated an extreme form of Turkish nationalism that was both staunchly secular and statist, and which accordingly would refuse to recognise national and religious minorities.
