URGENT ALERT: Sudan – Detention without charge, Dr Elamin Mohammed Osman
Background
IHRC is concerned regarding the safety and treatment of Dr Elamin Mohammed Osman, who was removed from his home yesterday evening by two members of the Sudanese security forces, including Lieutenant Colonel Ismail Al Nayir (who was implicated in the the murder of Hassan Abu Al Reish in custody last year).
Dr Elamin Mohammed Osman suffers from hypertension and diabetes and is aged 62. he was taken from his home without being allowed to take his medication. He is the Secretary General of the NGO Munazamat Al Dawa Al Islamiya.
He has been taken to an unknown destination.
Requested Action
IHRC requests campaigners to contact the appropriate Sudanese ministries (addresses and contacts below), and the Sudanese embassy in your country (some addresses below).
Please politely call for the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Osman. Please raise your of concerns regarding his detention given the facts of his medical condition.
