On August 9, 2014, 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by police in Ferguson in the United States. His murder sparked an uprising; the now infamous slogan “hands up, dont shoot” and was of the key triggers to the #BlackLivesMatter protest movement.

Michael Brown was not the first nor the last black man to be murdered by racist police. In this powerful excerpt from our event on racism; Imam Dawud Walid explains that protesting alone won’t solve this sinister problem; which is at its heart a spiritual disease that requires a cultural revolution; not just in the United States but across the world.
