‘ANOTHER DAY’ EXHIBITION LAUNCH

Thursday 19 June 2014 saw the launch of photographer Sara Russell’s exhibition ‘Another Day.’ The exhibition features the documentation of Sara’s recent trip to Palestine – she travelled there as part of a delegation last year.

The exhibition runs until 30 September 2014 and entry is free. IHRC Bookshop and Gallery is open Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm and on Saturdays from 10am – 6pm. Make sure you stop by!

EID PACKS FOR PRISONERS

IHRC will be distributing prison Eid packs for Eid al-Fitr 2014.

Sending small gifts for Eid to prisoners can be a major boost for them. It is a sign that they are still connected with the wider community. One prisoner described the gifts as: “A little bit of a present from outside gives you a bit of reality, a bit of hope.” Our Eid packs for Eid al-Fitr 2012 and 2013 were very well received. IHRC are urging campaigners and activists to demand that the Commonwealth Secretariat suspend Sri Lanka from the Commonwealth due to their tacit support of a violent Buddhist group and lack of response to the plea for help from the vulnerable Muslim minority.
