Salam everyone,
We have a lot of exciting events coming up here at IHRC. On Saturday, 11 October we’ll be hosting the launch of the ‘Decolonizing the Mind’ book series and contributing authors Stephen Small and Sandew Hira will both be in conversation. If you can’t make it to the event in person, you can always watch online at www.ihrc.tv. We welcome questions and comments so tweet us @IHRC with anything you would like to contribute!
Also a quick reminder that our next ‘Know Your Rights’ workshop will be taking place on Tuesday, 14 October. This one is all about how to deal with uncomfortable situations involving immigration officers. Hope to see you there!

20 Questions & Answers about Reparations for Colonialism: The second book in the mesmerising ‘Decolonising the Mind’ series. Using the punchy style of answering both the obvious and labyrinthine complex questions, the author presents a well-reasoned and detail-orientated explanation of the concepts and history of slavery and reparations.
The New Pearl Harbour Revisited: Professor David Ray Griffin brings us his own well researched project into the events of September 11th 2001, and the subsequent investigations after it. Credited with launching the much forgotten ‘9/11 truth movement’ there is no denying this book’s thorough research even if you do not agree with the its main conclusions. What is prevalent is the shocking case of inability and negligence with regard to intelligence and security by the US government.
Blood & Faith: The Purging of Muslim Spain 1492-1619: Celebrated journalist Matthew Carr’s riveting chronicle is set against the vivid historical backdrop of Muslim Spain. Here is a remarkable window into a little-known period in modern Europe – a rich and complex tale of competing faiths and beliefs, cultural oppression and resistance against overwhelming odds. Minutely researched, this piece is an important new study that synthesises much important scholarship on what until now was unknown to the general public.
