The Qur’an and its Exegesis: Selected Texts with Classical and Modern Interpretations: Helmut Gatje’s exegesis on the Holy Qur’an is a mesmerising account of the wisdom and relativity it holds. Gatje utilises both classical texts and essays along with modern Muslim interpretations and arguments to provide an encompassing thesis of the Qur’an. This book presents all views; from the spiritual to the philosophical. Gatje also uses historical examples in the seerah and hadith to outline the Qur’anic representation of Islam. This piece is certainly one of the best and in-depth Quran studies in circulation.
The Ascendant Qur’an: Realigning Man to the Divine Power Culture: Enlighten yourself in the run up to Ramadan with this timeless tafsir of the Holy Qur’an. From the world renowned Imam Muhammad H. al-Asi, this well-versed scholar elegantly presents the first-ever English tafsir from Surah Al-Fatihah to Surah Al-Baqarah. Imam Asi not only translates the Qur’anic verses diligently and successfully but critically goes further. He efficiently reinterprets the lessons and advice of the noble Qur’an to modern Muslims in a way they can truly relate to. The conclusions drawn in this tafsir truly make this piece indispensible food for the soul this Shaban.
She Wore Red Trainers: It’s love at first glance when Ali meets Amirah, red trainers and all. Ali is still getting over the loss of his mother and trying to come to terms with his identity as a Muslim who likes basketball, motorbikes and wants a gap year in Mexico. Amirah, the gifted artist, has sworn never to get married. But falling in love isn’t simple when you’re trying to remain true to your deen.
