We are hosting a year long counter-racist course in London in partnership with the Assata-Tupac Liberation School and SOAS2, and teaming up on other events across the next year. We are also in preparation for the 2014 Genocide Memorial Day and the return of the Islamophobia Awards in February next year. Keep checking back on our website for further updates and news on these events.
Also the Summer School on Black Europe Program 2014 now in its 7th year, the overall goal of this intensive two week course is to examine the contemporary circumstances of the African Diaspora in Europe. We will focus on the historical and colonial legacies of European countries to discuss the origins of Black Europe and investigate the impact of these legacies on policies and legislation today. More information below in the events section.

Summer School on Black Europe Program 2014

UJN Pakistan Unity Declaration 1434
Full set of resources available of this historic meeting.
Islamic Human Rights Commission and Citizens International as joint secretariats of Universal Justice Network brough together Muslim scholars and leaders from Pakistan to work on unity issues. At the end of the two day closed meeting the group signed a historic agreement condemning sectarianism, vowing to remove it as a cause of conflict in the violence-stricken country.

Joint Statement on Syria by Islamic Human Rights Commission and Citizens International
IHRC and CI are and have been deeply concerned about the never-ending spiral of violence and killing in Syria. People have been killed and continue to die in their tens of thousands, at least 2.5 million are internally displaced, hundreds of thousands are refugees, and the most horrendous acts of sexual violence, desecration and abuse have become commonplace with sectarian narratives driving a zero sum attitude on all sides.

Religious Violence and sectarianism condemned by Scholars
To propagate tolerance, religious scholars and leaders from different political parities of Pakistan announced a joint signing of a declaration on condemning sectarianism in country and vowed to eradicate the cause of conflict from society, held in Turkey. We find common ground in affirming and agreed to come together to tackle religious intolerance in the interests of Muslim unity and condemn all forms of religious violence, said leaders of religious parties.
